For Sale: Mini autumn bottle pendant by NightPhoenixArt
For Sale: Mini autumn bottle pendant
A very small bottle (less than 3cm in total height) with mushrooms and toadstools (cep and fly agaric) sitting on a forest floor of earth autumnal leaves and grass. All within the bottle hand sculpted and hand painted by myself. The bottle can be adapted to become a pendant.
I rarely sell my stuff but thought i would sell this for just £15 plus a small postage charge. The reduced price is due to a tiny chip of colour on the cep.
 A totally unique piece!

I am very fortunate to have crafty friends who are happy to share their knowledge so first I would like to start by saying thanks to Wordsmithcrafts for having the patience to teach me a bit of blacksmithing. Please head over to his site for some more info on the multi-talented artist www.wordsmithcrafts.co.uk/
Day 5: Blacksmithing by NightPhoenixArt
Out of all the crafts I have tried my hand at blacksmithing ranks up near the top in terms of fun and newness. There is something really pleasing about learning a completely new medium to work with and in front of a forge on a cold snowy day is certainly the place to be. I have seen examples of several different forges from viking forges to wartime forges and modern ones as well as work bellows from many in between. Although I have seen blacksmithing a fair few times now at various viking shows and friends workshops I have only really had a go at creating something twice before and both times I made "s-hooks". So I was keen to have another go and move on to creating something else which resulted in the pennanular broach. I am pleased with the result despite its flaws but only wish I had taken a photo of it before bending as it was so wonderfully even!
These are the S hooks I previously made.

My first Viking S Hooks by NightPhoenixArt

Blacksmithing is something I definately want to try again and thankfully will probably get the opportunity to do so. I love watching people work the metal. The glow of white hot metal and sparks are beautiful and hypnotic whilst the sound of hammers on metal take you back to an older time. It creates a very satisfying environment.
There are lots of examples of many different types of metalwork including blacksmithing and lots of those examples are iron age, viking or saxon. I have only included some of the skill that exists out there in deviantart world.
Unfortunately I have been really ill today and unable to do much today at all so Day 6 may be late but it cant be helped and i am certainly not going to stop even if this is the case. Enjoy.

A creative soul. I long to create beautifull, important and empowering images that really tell a story, make an important statement or reach out to someone.
I also enjoy the challenge of working on commisions, I love to help others express themselves or see themselves differently wether it be turning someones child in to a magical fairy or simply retouching an image. It brings me joy.
My work is deeply inspired by the spiritual, the primal and the wilds. Nature has long been my biggest passion and i have dedicated most of my life to its protection, travelling the world to its wildest places in an attempt to help them. I long to inspire respect for the wilds, for the world that lies underneath our own society and if i can do that through my artwork then all the better.
I am also fascinated by psychology and spirituality and feel this deeply inspires my art as well or at least hope that one day it will. The fact that we can take something from the depths of our mind and turn it into a tangible work of art is a wonderful form of personal expression. I am a huge appreciator of anyone that can share this part of themselves with us through our art. Sometimes the wild places are not around us but within us....
Creativity is important, it is not just a realease, a form of expression but also a secret shared. Creativity is not just food for the soul but also fuel for the imagination which in turn inspires dreams and dreams can change the world. Rejoice in the freedom of creation and inspire....

At this point in time my creativity takes the form of digital artwork and when i have the time traditional painting but i am also allways willing to try new things and explored traditional skills (leatherworking, woodworking and such) through my hobbies of being a viking and medieval reenactor. I have also been very lucky to explore and express myself in more contemporary mediums such as photography and artistic modelling. I was really inspired by it, the colours are fantastic. I have tried nalbinding a few times and never managed to finish a project (I have a sock and a half) so highly respect the patience, skill and dedication that must have gone into your work.
