My Bio
A creative soul. I long to create beautifull, important and empowering images that really tell a story, make an important statement or reach out to someone.
I also enjoy the challenge of working on commisions, I love to help others express themselves or see themselves differently wether it be turning someones child in to a magical fairy or simply retouching an image. It brings me joy.
My work is deeply inspired by the spiritual, the primal and the wilds. Nature has long been my biggest passion and i have dedicated most of my life to its protection, travelling the world to its wildest places in an attempt to help them. I long to inspire respect for the wilds, for the world that lies underneath our own society and if i can do that through my artwork then all the better.
I am also fascinated by psychology and spirituality and feel this deeply inspires my art as well or at least hope that one day it will. The fact that we can take something from the depths of our mind and turn it into a tangible work of art is a wonderful form of personal expression. I am a huge appreciator of anyone that can share this part of themselves with us through our art. Sometimes the wild places are not around us but within us....
Creativity is important, it is not just a realease, a form of expression but also a secret shared. Creativity is not just food for the soul but also fuel for the imagination which in turn inspires dreams and dreams can change the world. Rejoice in the freedom of creation and inspire....

At this point in time my creativity takes the form of digital artwork and when i have the time traditional painting but i am also allways willing to try new things and explored traditional skills (leatherworking, woodworking and such) through my hobbies of being a viking and medieval reenactor. I have also been very lucky to explore and express myself in more contemporary mediums such as photography and artistic modelling. My professional modelling site can be found here on deviant art nightphoenixfire.deviantart.co… and on Model Mayhem: www.modelmayhem.com/NightPhoen…

Anyone whose art is deep, shares a secret, makes a statement or tells a story
I am very fortunate to have crafty friends who are happy to share their knowledge so first I would like to start by saying thanks to Wordsmithcrafts for having the patience to teach me a bit of blacksmithing. Please head over to his site for some more info on the multi-talented artist http://www.wordsmithcrafts.co.uk/ :thumb361724272: Out of all the crafts I have tried my hand at blacksmithing ranks up near the top in terms of fun and newness. There is something really pleasing about learning a completely new medium to work with and in front of a forge on a cold snowy day is certainly the place to be. I have seen examples of several differe

:thumb361368848: The hoard from the morning After a day of tablet weaving and a day of embroidery to puzzle over I decided to do something I find much easier and have dabbled in before and that is wire work with copper or copper alloy. There are many examples of bronze and silver wire-work finds from the viking era and wire was used to decorate many things. Thin strands of gold or silver wire may be couch embroidered onto an elaborate piece of clothing or used in tablet weave. Wire has been used to make all sorts of rings, torcs, bracelets and fastenings. I decided to try and replicate some of the artifacts I know of that are wither viking

Ok I know I am behind on my uploading and such but there has been a freak snow storm and it has affected the internet really badly plus it also has the effect of making me want to go and play in the snow instead of take photos of crafts :S Anyway Day 3 brought the dreaded embroidery! :thumb361166088: I have never successfully finished a piece of embroidery before and have only attempted one piece previously really not knowing what i was doing at the time. Not a lot has changed since then apart from determination! I started this new design which is based on a scandinavian pendant that was found dating from the 9th to 10th century. admittedl

Thanks for the fav.
Thanks for faving! I appreciate it.
It's really nice of you to add my simple and plain naalbinding cap to your collection of all those awesome historical crafts, thanks. Hug
I was really inspired by it, the colours are fantastic. I have tried nalbinding a few times and never managed to finish a project (I have a sock and a half) so highly respect the patience, skill and dedication that must have gone into your work.
