Handmade Viking shield made using traditional methods then painted with my own design based upon historical finds near the Isle of Skye. The shield is BIG and made with wood, rawhide riveted backwards, a hand forged handle and linen. I rather like how it turned out, shame the photo is a bit rubbish and there is no chance of a new pic
thankyou it was made for a friend and has its own symbolism so i am hoping not too many will copy it. I wish i had altered it slightly but am fairly happy with it.
I dont know but i imagine there are, i dont have any links unfortunately. It depends how authentic you want to make it and if it is going to be on a battlefield or not. If it isnt then you dont really need to bother with the linen so much, one layer over a ply wood circle would do it. Order a boss online and have a wooden handle, rivet it on and paint it. I guess thats the basic option
I don't mean to sound wierd, but I need to make a shield with my tribes insignia, it's a Midwest-Moot heathen thingy.
